Well of souls hacking

It was really great re-reading through these. My apologies to the years I left out Here, let's jump straight to How to Play. I think most people appreciate having their hand held for the first few moments in a new environment. So let's just walk through the first little bit together Well of Souls is a Role Playing Game RPG which means you will be creating a character and working hard to raise its level until finally it is a mighty force with which to be reckoned.

Along the way you will have quests to solve and monsters to defeat. If you choose to take advantage of the multiplayer aspects of the game instead of just playing "solo" which you are welcome to do , you will also find friends and foes battling alongside you. When you start the game, you will be faced with several decisions:. Pretty much any time you like, you can press the F1 key to bring up the built-in help file.

It's probably a bit different from what you may be used to, but it is actually quite simple. Making a New Character. Pay close attention to the row of buttons along the very bottom of the screen. When you point to them, they may tell you more about what they do. The first button you will probably push is the egg-shaped " new character " button.

Pressing this brings up a dialog where you get to design your character. You give it a name, a "character class" wizard, warrior, etc. Classes vary with the world you play in. Then choose whether or not you wish to follow the path of PK Player Killing is both popular and irritating.

You can choose to opt out of the whole thing and be invulnerable to other players. Then you will assign your character's starting stats by assigning "ability points. You will earn more ability points when you level up. Finally you will pick your character's "skin" it's visual appearance as seen by other players.

You can actually draw your own skin file if you have artistic talent - or even if you don't , and it can be shared with other players automatically.

Now the time has come to leave the Well and enter the world by 'incarnating' into your physical body. Once you enter the world, the bottom row of buttons will change to something more appropriate to the meaty.

Note you can ALSO customize the game by changing the ' user interface theme ' so if you can draw prettier buttons than me, go for it! Several member-created worlds come with attractive themes.

Walking and Fighting. You will find yourself on the map. Clicking on a spot on the map will make you walk to that location. But beware, you are still weak and there are monsters nearby albeit, rather weak ones, as monsters go. The display has two major modes: MAP aerial view of you walking around and SCENE perspective view of you in a small area interacting with monsters and other players. The idea is to make the design open enough that you can generate your own worlds and quests, share them with friends, etc.

This is a work in progress, but I am into long test periods, so it is now in "Open Alpha" test. Check out the Art Submission page! Download It! None of the actual screen layout or artwork is final. It's just an example of the sort of thing you can do in this program. It will now automatically play that game with your pet for as long as desried. After awhile, you will notice the stats slowly rising by one Wisdom, Stamina, etc.

Do it as long as desired or until you max out the pet. Without the auto-clicker, just keep pressing the Frisbee-looking picture in the "Train Pet" area. Recently added games to Cheating Dome. All Items Cheats - Marked as "Cheater" Cheats - Will Not Mark as "Cheater" It starts up a copy of notepad to let you manually edit your current aliases.

It starts a copy of WordPad and lets you edit your diary document. The Book of Colors lets you choose colors for various flavors of incoming chat text. This book lets you review skin files you have collected, and to switch your current character's skin solo game only. This opens the "Let's Find Pi" mini-game. It's thrilling. This plays the specified.

This opens a list of all the monsters defined in the world, along with their stats. It opens your Pokegatchi Training Pen. It might be a bad idea to do this when you are not incarnated, so perhaps this command is a bit dangerous crash? This opens the Big Ol' Space Rocks mini-game without having to walk to Stonetree or in worlds which haven't added an arcade link. Again, if high scores are ever recorded it might be dangerous to do this when not incarnated. This is very useful for a scene designer who needs to know the file name and image number for a particular ACTOR in a scene.

This opens the specialized 'Quest Editor' to rummage through the world's "quest. Although this LOOKs like a real editor, be sure to save your work frequently. This is definitely for world designers. Do NOT modify the quest. Make a copy first and do your experimenting in your own world "Clone of Evergreen". Modern quest. You can use any text editor you like, of course, for your world files.

Beware of having the same file open in two editors. This toggles your eavesdrop status on and off the same as if you used the right-click popup menu in the chat window.

While eavesdropping you hear pretty much everything said in the world except whispering and gossipping. With eavesdropping off, you only hear people who are 'nearby' on the map, in your scene, a member of your party.

Occasionally I am asked to help with homework and a computer solution shouts out to be made. Since I am usually editing WoS anyway, I just cram it in there. As of this writing the problem had to do with 'how many locker doors would still be open' and the results were kinda cool ended up being a prime number generator. Ghosts are people who are passively watching the game spectators. They pick one player to 'haunt' and then become an invisible member of that player's party.

This adds a word to your personal bleeper list. Anytime someone types this word while you have your bleeper on it will be replaced by the word "bleep".

I don't give you an actual 'bleeper editor' since that would expose your gentle eyes to a concentrated list of foulness. Instead, I give you the Unbleep command which lets you remove a word, if you can spell it. However, I don't let you remove the stock bleeper list it's pretty short, mainly the F word. On occasion I use WoS to further my plans for world domination, which include some signal processing issues I want to be able to talk to my pets. This command turns on the microphone sampling code.

It probably conflicts with other programs, the embedded speech feature, etc. It doesn't even work with some sound cards. This makes a half-hearted attempt to turn off the microphone sampling code, but it probably doesn't work very well and you'll need to shut WoS down completely to really stop it. This command toggles the terrain map overlay. While officially this should probably be a cheat, it is easy to get snagged on some otherwise invisible terrain and this might be your only way to escape.

I was a little proud of this one, as it was so economical. It opens the element traiing screen where you can spend PP to boost power in specific elements. Again, this might be dangerous to use when not incarnated.

Short for "Packet History" this command prints a little report in the chat window summarizing the total number of each kind of packet you have received, plus the effective bandwidth consumption of each packet type. I use this to optimize the game for low bandwidth biggest bandwidth headache today is all that quick-clicking in a small area to stimulate a monster fight.
