Launch QuickTime b. I ran QT in safe mode at that time I cannot find the troubleshooting tab for the video driver I looked in the display adapter section of device manager and all the menu tabs in the nvidia entry In case you don't look at it: If it's what I think it is, this is actually an Apple issue - they are aware of it and working on it. In the meantime, you don't say what kind of machine you are using, but we have seen issues with RAID drivers conflicting with QT.
I saw your post on it being an apple problem earlier, but that person's problem didn't sound exactly like mine, so I tried again.
I'm using a PC sony vaio AR with vista home premium I just checked and windows says my raid driver is up to date. I guess I'm hoping that now that MS owns the software, you might use some product of your own and not apple!!! I a world of MS bashing, I would love to see that change. Thanks for your help I would love an email if apple fixes this.
By: Anita Oakley Hi Tom, No - can't say that I've ever done anything with the hardware accelleration - I found someting on one of the forums that says right click on an empty part of your desktop, choose "Properties", select the "Settings" tab, click "Advanced" and then the "Troubleshoot" tab. Reduce the slider a step at a time.
I looked on my system, and it seems to be there, all right. The good news is that in the future, we will be reducing and then removing our dependency on QT. It's so engrained in the prodcut that it will take a substantial rewrite. I can't imagine the windows support of QT is anything they have even thought about. A blue screen error also called a stop error can occur if a problem causes your device to shut down or restart unexpectedly.
You might see a blue screen with a message that your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. Note: If you are experiencing a black or blank screen error, see Troubleshoot black screen or blank screen errors for more info. The steps in this article are intended to help troubleshoot common stop error codes, such as the following:. This article doesn't contain a list of all error codes, but since many error codes have the same potential resolutions, your best bet is to follow the steps below to troubleshoot your blue screen error.

Download them on your computer and install them. This can get rid of poorly installed drivers. If you boot it in Safe Mode, Windows will load just the most important drivers.
If a recent driver installation is causing the blue screen error, it will not cause it in Safe Mode. So you can solve the issue from there. If you can not boot your PC into safe mode, you should find the solution to fix the issues that can't enter Safe Mode in Windows.
It is always advisable to back up before you start and while this should come automatically there are times when it should be done more regularly — this is one of them.
Once the screen is where it needs to be removed. Remember what you were doing when this screen appeared and this could identify the software that is to blame. This may make it easy to get your computer working again. The code error should help you decide what to do and you can think about any recent changes you have made to your device.
Finally, you can try updating the drives. Graphics card drivers are often to blame, and uninstalling specific items may get you back on track. It is bound to be a problem in the hardware that causes the Blue screen of Death on a computer. If it is not that then the best guess will be hardware driver software.
Quite often the issue will be due to low-level software that is running in the Windows kernel. It is very unlikely that it will be a regular app that will be the cause, but on occasions, this could be the case. The operating system will not be taken out through an app crashing so don't waste time looking at them as the cause of the screen.
A STOP error is a catalyst for a blue screen appearing. When it happens there will be a complete crash and Windows will no longer perform.
All that will happen is that the PC will restart but the bad news is that it will not save any previously unsaved data as the programs do not get the chance to do this. One reason can be corrupt files or the loss of data. This can be more expensive to deal with for a company than an individual but it is still best to avert it when you can.
If the problem can be solved in the house this will be best but it is not always an option.
